How can I make a donation?

Donations can be made online, in person or by phone. Learn about the many different ways to make a donation, visit the Donate page.


How will my donation be recognized?

All donations over $50 will be recognized as an Annual Donor. Annual Donors will have their name recognized on the ARTicipate donor wall located in the upper lobby of the Shenkman Arts Centre for one year, as well as on the virtual donor wall. Donations of $2,500 or more will be recognized permanently on the donor wall. All donations are cumulative. Annual Donors can become part of the permanent donor wall once they have reached the $2,500 level.


Can I donate anonymously?

Donations can be made anonymously. Donors still receive a tax receipt. Recognition will be made in the name ‘anonymous.’

Can I donate in memory or honour of someone else? How will this be recognized?

Donations can be made in memory or honour of another individual. The donation will be recognized under the name of the person being honoured or remembered. Tax receipts are issued in the donor’s name. The individual being honoured or recognized, or their family, will receive a notification that the donation was made.


Can a donation be spread out over several years or months?

Donations can be spread out for any length or interval of time. This can be done through pre-approved credit card charges or post-dated cheques. The minimum donation for this is $20 per transaction. See the Make a Donation page for more information.  

How will local businesses and community organizations benefit from a donation to the ARTicipate Endowment Fund?

The Fund will be used to support artistic activity within the Shenkman Arts Centre, which will result in increased audiences and a strong and vibrant arts economy. A strong arts sector is proven to increase market value and the attractiveness of an area, resulting in increased traffic and visibility. This is highly beneficial for any community. As for local businesses, the recognition on the ARTicipate Donor Wall in the Centre and on the Virtual Donor Wall will let residents know that you support the arts and recognize the contribution a vibrant arts sector makes to quality of life for residents and visitors.


Are donations to the ARTicipate Endowment Fund tax deductible?

Donations to the ARTicipate Endowment Fund are tax deductible. AOE Arts Council, who leads the management of the ARTicipate Endowment Fund, is a registered charitable organization who is authorized to issue tax receipts for donations made to the ARTicipate Endowment Fund. All donations of $20 and more will receive a tax receipt.
