2011 Annual Report
Message from the AOE President and ARTicipate Director
It is with great pleasure that we present the 2011 Annual Report of the ARTicipate Endowment Fund.
You will see in these pages the great diversity of artistic projects that have been supported over the past year through ARTicipate Endowment Fund grants. The more than $64,000 awarded in 2011 is an increase of $10,000 over the previous year. These funds have strengthened our arts community by encouraging artistic activity by our Francophone, Anglophone and multi-cultural communities, as well as providing enhanced opportunities for amateur, emerging and professional artists from all disciplines to bring their art to Shenkman Arts Centre audiences.
The recent Renewed Action Plan for Arts, Heritage and Culture in Ottawa (2013-2018) called for the development of cultural and creative districts throughout the city and we are proud of the role the ARTicipate Endowment Fund is playing in making the Shenkman Arts Centre a vibrant hub of culturally diverse artistic activity.
Of special significance during the year was the generous donation to the Fund by the Shenkman Arts Centre’s architects LaLande + Doyle who, recognizing the importance of supporting the arts community on an ongoing basis, significantly increased their initial donation to bring their total contribution to $75,000.
Thanks to the generosity of all donors, the ARTicipate Endowment Fund will continue to have a significant impact on the vitality of the arts sector.
Please continue to give.

“The arts enliven us, enrich us, provoke, prod and delight us, and sustain and nourish us in countless ways. Having the Shenkman Arts Centre here in Orléans has already raised the energy of our community to a more playful, vibrant and joyful level and I'm thrilled to do my small part to help.”
